New York-based artist Nehedar, brain child of restless musical genius Emilia Cataldo, has been consistently releasing excellent music since 2007 (Nehedar has 9 albums on Bandcamp & some secret releases on Soundcloud.) Think of artists like St. Vincent, PJ Harvey and Sharon van Etten and you’re on the right track. Always insightful and lyrically relevant, latest single release “Pendulum” is no different.

Nehedar was kind enough to provide us an exclusive quote about the track:

“Pendulum marks the first time our drummer Brad Reiss produced a Nehedar track. Elisheva Maister plays cello in the midrange. Pendulum refers to the concept of trying to remain centered in deeply held core values, while keeping an eye on polarized cultural forces swinging wildly around us. Alternately, the pendulum refers to the trope of pendulums used for hypnosis.”

About Nehedar:

Nehedar is the project of genre-fluid songwriter/vocalist/guitarist Emilia Cataldo.

Cataldo has performed her original music in NYC since 2003, and has self released 9 independent albums as well as several music videos.

Nehedar currently performs as a trio with Elisheva Maister (cello) and Brad Reiss (drums).
