T.O.Z.E-z is a Rapper/Artist based out of Bronx, York He has received critical acclaim from many music critics and webzines around the globe thus far in his musical career and is known for his impressive and highly addictive music and impressive approach to the songwriting craft. Also he has executed a pretty good acting career so far having supported some very big names in Hollywood. Looking over his bio reveals an impressive yet balanced entertainment career thus far: Musical Genera: Rap, Hip Hop flavors, Mix Tape. Like the title implies this latest work “High Voltage carries on it the the T.O.N.E-z tradition moniker as being a no holds barred, much anticipated Mix Tape release.
“High Voltage” is his latest release and the result though far from a self-indulgent ego trip, rather a moving and elegiac artistic statement from start to finish. This is not your overly predictable Ramon Noodle Indie Rap. Instead T.O.N.E-z has way too much precision and clarity to live in the shadows of overly-predictable Indie Rap – compatible to the masses in an overcompensated way. The Man Makes the Art not Art makes the man – this is clearly evident in songs like “Whateva”, Sittin’ In My Room” and “almost There” which methodically ups the ante to a very respectable level of catchy musical craftsmanship and addictive rap flow that transcends typical pigeonholing. Indeed there’s reason why T.O.N.E-z was nominated for an Emmy becoming more and more popular each and every year. The music is also commercially viable with a fresh sound and a rock solid vibe that holds the attentions span of the listener perfectly. WARNING: There is explicit content throughout. In a nutshell this is Crooked L meets Q-Tip. The 15 song line-up appeals to many listeners with a wide variety of musical styles – but packs a powerful punch via a powerful voice for music fans out there who have had enough of the musical Rap/Hip Hop status quo.
Final Word: I would imagine in time we will hear more from T.O.N.E-z in the near future. No doubt T.O.N.E-z has had a musical career bigger than most so far and has carved a marketable niche for himself along the East coast and beyond thus far setting himself p for marketable success over the years to come. But for now I can honestly say this is one artist that clearly gives you a musical snapshot that is highly original, unique and dare I say true to form in scope.
